The Resort was just what I expected from the "resort experience". And it was so affordable! My husband and I were impressed by the pet-friendly atmosphere.
The resort was beautifully manicured and the views were magnificent. The suite had a very comfortable bed and the location was very quiet and peaceful. The finishes were a little old but there was lots of hot water.
When we arrived we asked for an upgrade because after a long day on a motorcycle I wanted a big tub to soak in. We were given a suite in the top floor of a chalet. The room smelled musty, which made my allergies react. The head board had not been dusted. The side tables have footed lamps on them and the cleaning staff only dusted around the lamp and the dust remained in the center. After a long day of travel on a motorcycle we filled the jacuzzi and turned on the jets there were black chunks in the water so we drained it. There was a hair clip on the bathroom floor and long black hair on my bath towel. We went to the restaurant for dinner (group of 8) and the service was terrible. We were made to wait for long periods of time before getting our drink orders. One of the drink orders sat on the bar until the bartender poured it out. Our food orders came out in two groups of 4, so we couldn't eat together. We had to chase the young man with the rolls for a roll because we had been waiting a very long time for our food and we were starving and then we had to ask for a second roll. For that class of restaurant I would have expected a better quality/style of french fry not just McCain. The other 6 in our party were in one of the main buildings and there was no pressure in the shower.
The staff at the Inverary were wonderful. The location is very nice and the water sport centre were a wonderful way to spend our days. We enjoyed the bonfire at night and were sorry to leave the next day. I would recommend the hotel to any family looking for a getaway with lots of activities for the family.
The only hitch in our stay would have been that the carpet in our room could have been cleaner, the rest of the room was very clean though. So we kept our shoes on, not a big deal.
We stay at the Inverery as a stopover enroute. We always enjoy the ambiance and live entertainment at the quaint and friendly Thistledown Pub. The Lakeside dining menu is varied for all tastes. Each plate is gourmet and offers a choice of relaxing inside or on the patio. Staff is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Highly reccommended.
The traditional rooms are slightly outdated and lack personality for such a beautiful setting.
The meals at lakeside restaurant were fantastic. View of the Bay and surroundings were great.
The room we were in could use a makeover.
The facilities and location were lovely. Staff were friendly.
Short-handed at the main reception desk.
The only thing we found satisfactory at the Inverary resort, was its position, right on the lakeside.
Breakfast (which was an extra c$16.10 Per person), was well below average, comparing it to simple, but well run hotels, like Comfort Inn, Quality Inn etc. etc. This hotel was by far the most expensive that we stayed in during our one months trip of Canada and the usa - and was by far the most disappointing The room offered to us was dark and furnishings just "OK" We will be very careful about reserving hotels through Booked.net again, as very few options of accommodation were offered by them in this area - an area which we found full of hotels - when we arrived there.
Well situated. Pleasant grounds. Good parking.
The room initially allocated was not the specification that we had booked. Breakfast variable and not very comprehensive Waterside restaurant closed
Very good location for base to other activities in the area.
Rooms were not modern and were definitely not worth the price when compared to other "Resorts" we have stayed in.
Location was good, right next to the lake.
We had a more motel feeling rather than hotel resort. Our room was in mcdonalds house, very outdated with musty smell, tv hidden in a funny cupboard. When its door was open, we could not walk around the beds. The beds were very uncomfortable, made a horrible sound. During the night we were woken up by a drunk male group, in the morning the housekeeping was slamming the doors. Overall, this is senior orientated resort, there were 4 buses full of senior guests on our arrival! Definitely our worst accommodation on our long Canada trip and not worth 130$ per night.
Food in restaurant was good, service a little slow. It was a good location to start our journey on the Cabot trail.
Very rustic, outdated in the rooms. Our cottage could use some TLC, sink was coming away from wall in bathroom.
Very nice scenic location with lots of space, activities, great dinning, and very well kept
Some people got drunk on their balconies and got EXCESSIVELY loud for hours; a lot of kids also were doing a great amount of noise and nothing was done about it...
The scenery was fantastic, staff very friendly, close to village of Baddeck which had plenty to offer.
1. The location of Inverary Resort makes it convenient for enjoying the shops and restaurants in the Baddeck Village. 2. The scenery in and around the area is beautiful.
1. It would have been nice to have a mini-fridge in our unit, especially during the hot weather, and also in our case, my wife takes insulin which required refridgeration. 2. Having been assigned a second floor unit (Argyle Lodge # 73), the number of steps to reach this unit and also the third floor for ice, would be most inconvenient, if not impossible for more senior persons and/or disabled persons. . .
This is my 2nd stay with a family member. We like the peaceful location, the basic comfort of the room and the breakfast is good. The pub entertainment was not our cup of tea, but we would stay again and we hope to!
Internet connectivity was poor, which we needed to continue plotting our trip and to stay in contact with some folks back home for personal reasons.
